CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 63 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the national death toll to 1 737, while the cumulative number of cases is 83 890, an increase of 3 478.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize said: "Regrettably, we report a further 63 Covid-19 deaths - 6 from the Eastern Cape and 57 from the Western Cape."
Mkhize said the mortality rate is 2.1 percent.
Recoveries to date are 44 920, which translates to a recovery rate of 53.5percent.
