CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 82 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 1 162, while the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 52 991, an increase of 2 112.
Of the latest deaths, Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that 61 are from the Western Cape,11 from the Eastern Cape and 10 Gauteng.
Mkhize said that while South African records Covid-19 deaths daily, the country's mortality rate remains at 2.2 per cent.
The recoveries to date stand at 29 006, translating to a recovery rate of 54.8 percent.
