CAPE TOWN - The South African Tourism has taken to Youtube releasing a new advertisement called ‘The Greatest Story of Them All’ symbolising the reopening of the sector.
The tourism industry in South Africa has been one of the most impacted sectors in the country due to the pandemic and national lockdown.
It was reported that around 600 000 jobs were at stake and needed an urgent intervention leading to the reopening phases announced by Tourism Minister Kubayi-Ngubane.
It appears the revival of the international tourism sector has begun with the release of the advertisement on the official South African Tourism YouTube channel last week.
The video displays South Africa’s attractions with a narrative on the stories to be told. Touching on the current lockdown and how soon there will be stories told like no other.
The South African Tourism YouTube channel wrote, “When we travel we stumble upon places far beyond our imagination. We set footprints on the sand and wish they could be there for eternity because these are the places that remind us of our humanity. #ShareSouthAfrica and be a part of the greatest story of them all.”
The tourism sector is one of the countries biggest earning industries. With the resumption of local tourism taking place as restrictions begin to ease, international tourism in the country is only estimated to resume February 2021.
