CAPE TOWN -
While South Africa has not yet opened up its gates to international tourists, the V&A Waterfront has made it onto an international list of top 80 travel destinations which has been awarded a Safe Travel stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Having implemented comprehensive measures to safeguard visitors and employees, the Safe Travel stamp which is designed to address Covid-19 outbreaks is only awarded once all health and hygiene protocols are implemented.

“We’ve noted best practice from all over the world with a view to setting a benchmark, and we will continue to modify these measures as our understanding of the coronavirus evolves,” said V&A Waterfront CEO David Green.
“As a member of the WTTC, we have the most up to date information on the most effective, scientifically supported measures available and the V&A will continue to take the lead in implementing them,” he said.
The V&A Waterfront has also introduced contactless payment for parking, a collect drive-through shopping solution and limits the number of visitors in its stores to help facilitate physical distancing.
