CAPE TOWN -
Experts say that Covid-19 and malaria share some important symptoms and urge South Africans to seek medical diagnosis to ensure they are diagnosed correctly and receive the proper treatment.
Dr Devanand Patrick Moonasar from the National Department of Health says that those who live in a malarious area should be extra vigilant if they show any Covid-19 symptoms.
“Depending on the transmission of Covid-19 in that particular geographic area, they might want to send you for Covid-19 test as well as malaria,” said Moonasar.
“We have noticed that people are extra vigilant at the moment in terms of signs and symptoms, and that can only bode well for disease such as malaria,” he said.
