London - The Duchess of Cambridge is set to unveil a children’s playground paradise inspired by her Chelsea Flower Show garden.
Kate will formally open the Back To Nature garden at RHS Wisley in Surrey next week, the centrepiece of which is a giant wooden treehouse.
The garden takes in features from the duchess’s flower show plot but is larger and even more child-friendly, with a sandpit, swings and a hut made to look like a hedgehog.
The mother-of-three decided to help create a special Chelsea show garden as part of her ‘early years’ project, which is exploring how childhood experiences have a direct link with the issues some face as adults, such as addiction and social exclusion.
The duchess firmly believes that spending time outdoors plays a pivotal role for the future health and happiness of youngsters, and is keen to find ways to encourage this.
She even got her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, involved in the project.
The Wisley garden was designed by a team from the Royal Horticultural Society with input from Davies White Landscape Architects, which worked with Kate earlier this year.
