The Ecstasy of Brush Strokes could be South Africa's answer to  Fifty Shades Of Grey. And the best part is that it's based exclusively in Mzansi.

Sexy, intelligent and sometimes shockingly candid, it promises to be South Africa’s most erotic novel ever.

Written by Rachel Haze, the book is set in a small Karoo dorpie during a relentlessly hot and steamy summer.

Main character Alex needs to get away from her claustrophobic marriage to dependable Mark and her ongoing obsession with her first love, Nicholas.

According to the press release, she is a woman brooding on her sexual desires, both drawn to and repelled by her hunger.

She tells herself she is on a quest to reawaken her urge to paint. But is she really?

When the sultry Jessica arrives in the small town, things take on a whole new turn. Erotic boundaries are pushed as a ménage of erotic encounters unfold.

Here's an interesting titbit, the book is written by a well-known local author who wants to remain anonymous. So the big question is: Who is Rachel Haze?
