"What do I love most about my job? Yes… the make up is pretty cool. It’s like colouring in all day long where every canvas is different. But what I love most… are the people. Their story. Their journey. Make up envelopes not only the outer canvas, but also the inner story. And everyone’s story is magical," she says.

"I fell in love with the power of make up when I was 9 years old. It was when I realized that make up could magically make a woman feel confident and powerful, with the touch of just a red lip, or a really good brow."

Renowned Model and Celebrity Shashi Naidoo will be the model at the event. Supplied picture.

Renowned Model and Celebrity Shashi Naidoo will be the model at the event and Myers will be demonstrating make up application on her. Naidoo was recently announced as the face of Glampalm hair.

At the event guests will be given tips and hacks for skincare and make up application by Myers. Guests will also be treated to massages and manicures from Sorbet and can expect beautiful gift bags to take home.

A Q & A with Gina Myers

Please tell us more  about yourself?

I’m quite a homey girl. I love my hair in a top bun  I like chilling with a glass of wine and having a healthy salad. But the salad has to look pretty (instagramworthy! :) I also love people.

How did you get your start in the industry?

Make up has always fascinated me. I decided to take a year off studies to decide what i really wanted to do and where my passion was. After completion of my make up course, everything fell into place. People initially told me to forget a career as a make up artist because it wasn’t a career - I am so glad i proved them all wrong.

Which iconic looks do you love?

Nothing more Sexy than a red lip. Natural face. Lashes done. But a statement red lip. It definitely oozes confidence.

Who inspires you?

Women. All women!  Every women has a story. And everyday I’m meeting women who have overcome the impossible in their own way.

What surprises you most about working as a make-up artist?

Make Up artistry is still not taken seriously by so many people. It’s not seen a business. Or respected as one. It still astounds me.

What does it take to be successful in your industry?

Dedication. Confidence. Patience. You have to have a thick skin. Remember it’s never about you. It’s about the model/event/actress/bride. You cant be a drama queen - You have to maintain professionalism always.

What are the biggest make-up do's and dont's?

1. Find your correct foundation colour.

2. Don’t clump your lashes. It’s not cool.

3. Look after your skin.

4. Invest in a good foundation.

5. Less is more!

Which Looks are the most popular this summer?

Lots of glitter!  Matte is out and gllitter is so in right now. This includes the lips, lashes and highlighter too. Main focus is on the skin being as natural as possible and encouraging natural beauty to radiate through.
