In a celebration of local talent and creativity, Woolworths will be collaborating with the frontrunners of local fashion as they present their latest STYLEBYSA range.  This season’s STYLEBYSA collection will feature collaborations with Rich Mnisi, Thebe Magugu, Young & Lazy, Wanda Lephoto and Sindiso Khumalo.

Woolworths has been at the forefront of local fashion since 2003, being the first large retailer to create opportunities for and celebrate South African designers. STYLEBYSA creates a defined focus and positioning for these collaborations in the market.  The initiative also acknowledges the notable strides made by designers in the local fashion industry.

Sindiso Khumalo and Gert-Johan Coetzee are among the alumni of STYLEBYSA, an initiative that has helped many designers propel their businesses and brands by providing them with a platform for recognition.  David West, Woolworths Design Mgr. FBH Trend & Design, explains:

“Style by SA has grown designers’ businesses substantially firstly by introducing them to a broader market, and secondly by providing them with the means to expand the scale of their operation.”

The creative collaborations that the STYLEBYSA initiative facilitates have sparked a yearning for more inventive collaborations within Woolworths. Local, unique ideas are given more opportunities to flourish, inspiring local designers to create more, by highlighting that fashion is a viable career choice.

Woolworths is creating a platform for more local stories to be told through fashion and making South African designers and brands more accessible and recognisable to consumers.
