All fashion lovers in Durban can now visit the latest shopping destination in the area, as global retailer H&M (Hennes and Mauritz) (Pty) Ltd, leading fashion retailer just opened the doors of store No17 in the country.

More than 800 people queued in front of the store on Thursday to shop in the newest fashion paradise, occupying more than 3670 sq.m.

Customers experienced an exciting pre-launch countdown in the company of the gorgeous.

MC and host Ayanda Thabethe, along with special surprises for the anticipating customers, exciting social media contests and good music vibes from DJ Clyde. 

To celebrate the opening of Durban’s newest store, H&M  surprised the first 200 lucky customers in line with a R200 gift card to spend at the store.

The red ribbon was cut  by Pär Darj, Country Manager of South Africa and Robert Moore, Store Manager.

”We have had an amazing response from our customers here in Gateway and we look forward to continue bringing H&M’s concept of fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way to South Africa” said Darj. 

On Wednesday evening, H&M hosted a VIP event for prominent figures in Durban’s fashion and entertainment, industry as well as media personels . They were invited to preview and shop at the brand-new Gateway store while being treated to stylish displays of fashion, delectable food and beverages. 

Some of the most notable guests included Nomalanga Shozi, DJ Naves, Kyle Deutsch, Dj Sphectacula, Dj Nomfundo Clarissa and Ayanda Thabethe.

The store is now open to the  public until 8pm and for Black Friday, they will open until 11pm.

General store trading hours will be from 9 am to 7 pm Mondays to Thursdays and from 9 am to 9 pm on Fridays to Saturdays.  Sundays – from 9am to 6pm and Public Holidays, as per the weekday which the Public holiday falls on.
