Sneaker enthusiasts and collectors need no introduction to the Sneaker Exchange (SXC).
Now in its 5th year, Cape Town’s leg of Africa’s largest sneaker expo is taking place at Sun Exhibits, GrandWest on Saturday, 1 December 2018.
Starting in 2013 with only 80 people attending the event, this incredible expo has become increasingly popular every year. Now more than 4000 people come to each SXC expo held in all the major cities in South Africa.

“Sneakers are such a cool clothing item these days,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest. “Everyone is wearing them and some pairs have become collectors’ items. This expo is an opportunity to see rare and unusual sneakers you would not be able to buy in regular shops.”

SXC also promises lots of fantastic entertainment. Jade John, alongside Smash Afrika, will host the day. The headline artist is YoungstaCPT, with Shane Eagle, Rowlene and Gemini Major playing beforehand. Local DJs playing at the event will be SuperNova (LA), Veezus and VJ Vybez.
The expo opens from 11h00 until 19h00. Pre-sale tickets are available online for R80 from Computicket, otherwise R100 at the door. There is also a R200 VIP ticket available.
