One of the best local fashion shows, Soweto Fashion Week (SFW)has announced that the event will no longer be taking place at Soweto Theatre, but rather Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown.

“We are exceptionally excited to announce the next Soweto Fashion Week will be taking place from May 30 – June 2 at the Walter Sisulu Square.

SWF A/W19 is inspired by Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's personal fashion style.

“This year’s  SFW A/W 19 is particularly special! We are honouring the Mother of our Nation, the legendary Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

"As always, SFW is focused on promoting authentic Africa within cutting- edge clothing and accessory designs, but in this SFW event, the original designs to be shown are specifically inspired by Winnie Mandela’s own personal fashion style and preferences – in every aspect from colour pallets to clothing and accessory styles,”says Stephen Manzini, founder of SFW.

African prints and colour pallets are expected to be seen at the SFW runway.

In addition, SFW’s long-term partner and principal Sponsor, Darling Hair, has adopted a Black Panther- inspired theme for SFW A/W19, and will be adapting it through innovative hairstyles and colour pallets.

Tickets are available for purchase from Web Tickets , at Pick n Pay Stores countrywide and directly from the SFW website www.sowetofashionweek.com.
