Celebrities, media, fashionistas and the lovers of fine garments all gathered at Melrose Arch last night to experience day 1 of African Fashion International Joburg Fashion Week.

First to showcase was Aero featuring Nao Serati, D.O.P.E, and Mahone who all presented a unique menswear collection of street style.

The last designs were also menswear, with AntiArch from China showcasing a carefree cool street style collection-followed by Irmgard Mkhabela who turned heads with his athleisure wear.

Sealing the deal was Tanzanian designer, Sheria Ngowi who lived up to the expectations and showcased high end, clean cut formal menswear.

In his collection, Ngowi included slim fit suits, ankle grazer pants and sheer shirts.

AFIJFW is still on until October 7. Showcasing tonight are; TUT Fashion, AFI Prive, MaXhosa by Laduma, Presidential, CLAN and Deola Sagoe.
