The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) red carpet has glammed up nicely since Lady Gaga's meat dress fiasco in 2010, Lil' Kim's exposed breast in 1999 and Miley Cyrus' barely there silver "outfit" in 2015.
This year, glamour trumped garish — for the most part. Since it is the VMas after all, a few wacky outfits still made its way on to the red carpet.
Here are my best, worst and wacky looks:
