Seven people have been left injured in an accident in Hillcrest on Thursday morning.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said in a statement that the driver of a bakkie had overturned the vehicle on the N3 highway near the Peacevale off-ramp.
"ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the bakkie lying on its side in the middle of the road."
Meiring said that several passengers, that had been traveling on the back of the bakkie, were found walking around on the scene.
"Paramedics assessed the patients and found that seven had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene."
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Hillcrest Private and Life Westville Hospital for further treatment.
"Traffic was heavily affected on the highway due to the collision."
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
