Bentley's Mulsanne grand tourer enjoys unmatched prestige as the flagship of one of the world's most prestigious brands - and now, with these sketches of the Mulsanne Convertible Concept, Bentley's designers are giving us a look into the potential future of the Mulsanne family.

The Mulsanne Convertible Concept, they say, will be the world's most elegant and sophisticated convertible, providing a luxury grand touring experience for four adults. According to the Bentley boffins, its styling is a fusion of sportiness and coach-built elegance, with crisp lines and signature sculpted rear wheel-arches intended to convey a sense of power and movement.

The cabin design was inspired by luxurious, high-performance powerboats and combines contemporary design with sumptuous materials and typical Bentley attention to detail.

Mechanically the convertible Mulsanne is likely to share its hard-top sibling's 6.75-litre V8, rated at 377kW and 1020Nm, delivered at only 1750rpm, driving the rear wheels through an eight-speed auto transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shift.
