Renault's Scenic Navigator go-anywhere MPV is now available with diesel power.

Its 1.9-litre dCi engine is quoted at 96kW at 4000rpm and 300Nm at 2000rpm, while using only six litres/100km in the combined cycle, driving through the fornt wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Like its petrol-powered sibling - introduced in South Africa in February 2008- it has all the features of the top-end Dynamique trim level with extras such as rear parking proximity sensors, an electronic stability programme, 17" alloy rims and anodised aluminium roof bars.

The Scenic Navigator 1.9dCi costs R252 000, including a five-year or 150 000km warranty and a five-year or 60 000km maintenance plan.
