Suzuki has released the first official images of its redesigned Jimny and most fans (and we all know that few vehicles out there have as loyal a fan base) will be delighted to know that it will still be a proper off-roader.
The baby bundu basher gets a new retro-inspired design that keeps things rugged-looking while also throwing in some funky new colours and chiselled surfaces that make it look mean in a modern way.
Not much information on the vehicle has been imparted as yet, but Suzuki has released a picture of the ladder-frame chassis while also confirming that - like its forebears - the new Jimny will sport a good old fashioned part-time four-wheel-drive system complete with low-range gearing.
The engine range hasn’t yet been officially confirmed, but sources abroad report that the Jimny will be offered with 1.2 and 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol engines, as well as Suzuki’s ‘BoosterJet’ 1-litre turbo triple.
The new cabin mirrors the retro-modern exterior styling theme, while updating it with a touch-screen infotainment system.
