Petrolheads and motor enthusiasts from all over Gauteng made their way to the Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria at the weekend for the annual Gauteng Motor Show.

The venue was packed with spectators of all ages.

Attractions at the show included a drifting display, different races taking place along the track as well as a freestyle motocross display and an exhilarating aerobatic display.

There were also different exhibition stands that offered all sorts of motoring merchandise, and there were food stalls and the always popular beer garden.

Glynnis Anderson, the general manager of the organisers of this year’s show, Thebe Exhibitions and Projects, said there had been a great turnout of spectators over the plast two days.

She added that for the first time in the show’s existence, spectators who bought the VIP hospitality packages had the opportunity to go around the track in a drifting vehicle driven by one of the professional drivers.

There were also kart rides for people who wanted to test their skills behind the wheel. – Pretoria News
