Kuruman - Vigilant South African Police Service (SAPS) officers in Deben near Kuruman rescued a hijacked man and put three alleged hijackers behind bars, Northern Cape police said on Sunday.
The Deben SAPS officers spotted a suspicious looking car in Voortrekker Street, Deben in the early hours of November 23, Captain Sergio Kock said.

Police also found two firearms in the possession of the suspects and arrested them for hijacking, kidnapping, and illegal possession of firearms, Kock said.
John Taolo Gaetsewe policing cluster commander Maj-Gen Johan Bean commended the Deben police for their swift and professional response that led to the arrests. The suspects would appear in the Kuruman Magistrate's Court soon. The investigation was continuing, Kock said.
