Cape Town - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has opened a murder docket after footage emerged showing a policeman shooting a suspected criminal while he lies unarmed and bleeding on the ground.

According to the Sunday Times, who released the footage, the suspect’s name is Khulekani Mpanza and the incident happened on Harvey Street in Krugersdorp just after 2.30pm on Monday October 19.
