Rustenburg - A man and a woman have been arrested for possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R15,000 in Ikageng near Potchefstroom, North West police said on Sunday.

Lt-Col Colonel Amanda Funani said they were arrested by Potchefstroom public order police in Extension 7 on Friday, following a tip-off about suspected dagga dealing activity at a certain house in Extension 7.

"The police made a follow-up and upon conducting a search at the house they found 12 bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R15,000. The suspects, both aged 50, were arrest and are expected to appear before the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Monday, 28 August 2017," she said.

In a statement, North West police commissioner Lt-Gen Baile Motswenyane applauded the community of Ikageng for collaborating with the police in the fight against drugs.
