5 more Covid-19 deaths, 40% of positive cases recovered

CAPE TOWN- While Covid-19 cases are increasing daily in South Africa, around 40% of the positively identified cases have recovered.

Five more Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded bringing the total to 153, while infections stand at 7808, an increase of 236.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that the department is please to report that recoveries have increased to 3153, which is around 40% of the positively identified cases.

More than 11,000 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours.

From the five latest victims, two are from the Western Cape, two from KwaZulu-Natal and one from Limpopo.
