CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 53 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the national death toll to 1 930, while the cumulative number of cases is 97 302 - an increase of 4621 cases.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize said: "Regrettably, we report a further 53 Covid-19 deaths -17 from Eastern Cape, 1 from KwaZulu-Natal , 27 from the Western Cape and 8 from Gauteng."
Mkhize said the mortality rate is 1,98 percent.
Recoveries to date are 51 608, which translates to a recovery rate of 53 percent.
