Bail for stock theft accused

Theunissen - Ten men accused of stealing livestock worth more than R580 000 appeared in the Theunissen Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Free State police said.

Sergeant Ian Gaobepe said the matter was postponed to February 28.

The men are Maketola Radebe, 42, Senzile Jonta, 46, Ntsie Matlabe, 48, Lefu Ramathe, 16, Nzimine Mboya, 47, Vencont Malunga, 31, Jack Matheane, 30, Tetemane Mboya, 18, Friedrich Crots, 51, and George Coetzee, 43.

Gaobepe said a witness saw men loading 91 head of cattle into two trucks on Wednesday morning and called the owner, Sello Mokotedi, who alerted the police.

Coetzee and Crots were released on bail of R10 000 each. The others were released on a warning.
