Police are on the hunt for two hitmen an elderly archbishop claims to have hired to kill his young lover.

On Wednesday, Vumile Gwadela, 66, led police to a bushy slope where he pointed out his lover’s remains.

Nonesi Mdekazi’s rotting body was found lying face down on the ground.

She was naked from the waist down and her exposed flesh had turned black due to exposure.

Police worked well into the night on Wednesday to recover the body and gather as much evidence as they could from the gruesome scene.

And on Thursday, investigations intensified as police tried to locate the alleged killers.

This after Gwadela made a statement to police saying he had hired men to execute Nonesi, 32, after she threatened to leave him for her ex-boyfriend.

“He did not give us their names, he just gave us directions to where the guys could be found,” Gwadela’s employee Sibongile Mkwambi tells the Daily Voice.

Sibongile was present as investigators questioned the Zionist archbishop.

“Apparently there was a third man who was just the driver, so I guess police will be looking for three men now,” says Sibongile.

Nonesi’s family members tell the Daily Voice they are horrified by what happened but are relieved her remains have been found.

“It’s a little better and comforting now that her body has been found,” says Noluthando Mdekazi.

“What happened was awful and it is very painful for us but it is a relief that we have her body and we can finally lay her to rest.

“I told her two-year-old son that her mom was dead while he was asleep on Wednesday, and he has not asked about her since.

“We are busy making funeral arrangements.”

Police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk says no other arrests have been made in the case.

“The suspect has been formally charged with kidnapping and murder,” he tells the Daily Voice.

“It has also not yet been established how she died.

“Investigations are still ongoing.”

Cops tracked Gwadela down to a rural Eastern Cape village this week where he was hiding out.
