Durban - An identikit of a man who police believe can assist them in solving a rape.

Police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker said a woman, 44, walking along Alamein Avenue, Montclair, stopped a man and asked him for directions.

He offered to take her to the place she was looking for but instead forced her into bush, throttled and raped her.

He took her money and ran off. The incident happened on June 16.

A case of rape was opened at the Montclair SAPS.
