Rustenburg - A man has been stabbed to death and a woman raped in Lethabong near Rustenburg, North West police said on Sunday.
Lt-Col Pelonomi Makau said the 34-year-old man was stabbed several times on Saturday.
"According to the information, three men and two women left a tavern yesterday [Saturday] and went to one of the women's house. Upon arrival there an argument broke out between two men. One man was stabbed on his back several times. He died on the scene," she said.
After stabbing the other man, the perpetrator then threatened one of the women with a knife and took her to his home where he allegedly raped her before running away.
Police dogs were helping to track him in the bushes near the Cuba section of Lethabong on Sunday afternoon. Community members gathered outside his home while the police search for him was under way, she said.
