Johannesburg - A man died while another was left critically injured in an alleged robbery incident in Cosmo City, paramedics said on Thursday.
The incident took place on South Africa Drive at around 2pm.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived at the scene and found the two men lying in the road next to a vehicle.
"There was nothing paramedics could do to save the man, in his 20s, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and he was declared dead on the scene.
"Another man, believed to be in his 30s, was in a critical condition and was transported to Leratong Hospital for further medical care."
Two other patients, man and woman, meanwhile, sustained moderate to minor injuries and were also transported to nearby hospitals by other emergency services.
Meiring said the exact circumstances of the incident were not yet known to but said local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
