A rugby player from HÖer Landbouskool Jacobsdal appeared in a Free State court on Friday for allegedly raping a fellow pupil, News 24 reported.
The 19-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday, Constable Thabo Litabe told the publication. He was released on R2 000 bail and told to reappear in court on December 7.
The school told News 24 in a statement that an “alleged incident” took place on November 5.
The 14-year-old victim told a few housemates and authorities were later alerted.
Neither of the pupils would attend any further classes or functions but retain the right to write examinations.
