An eye-popping scene greeted a newlywed couple as they returned from their honeymoon.

Friends had used 14 000 Post-It notes to cover the entire ground floor of Jamie and Emily Pharro’s three-bedroom semi-detached home.

Everything had been obscured with neat rows of the yellow sticky notes - including the walls, sofas, television and even the inside of the kitchen cupboards and washing machine. The fireplace, kitchen table, pictures, wedding gifts and even the cards left on the mantelpiece were all plastered over.

Four of their friends spent eight hours on the prank and set up a camera to film the couple’s reaction as they returned to their home in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, from their honeymoon in Lake Garda, Italy.

The video shows the couple laughing and exclaiming “Oh my God!” as they realise what has happened.

Mr Pharro, 34, and his wife had left a key with a friend while they were away so their cats could be fed.

Mrs Pharro, a 29-year-old primary school teacher, said it took more than two hours to remove all the notes.

She added: “I think that in a few weeks we’ll still be finding the odd one about.” - Daily Mail
