Britain's Defence Ministry is investigating whether a Zimbabwean-born cavalry officer is an Internet pervert who hosts orgies in his grace-and-favour flat at Buckingham Palace.

Captain Tari Mundawarara, a cavalry officer who leads the Changing of the Guard as hundreds of tourists watch on London's Horse Guards parade, was caught with his pants down by undercover reporters who received a tip-off about his activities on the Internet to lure women.

According to the British tabloid News of the World, the Life Guards soldier, who trained with Prince Harry, trawls sex sites, offering girls behind-the-scenes royal tours as bait.

Bragging that he's part of Queen Elizabeth's bodyguard, his chat-up line is: "How would you like to get f***ed by a cavalryman in a royal guardroom?"

The paper said Mundawarara had also insulted the queen - joking that she's "definitely not totally with it" - and, in breach of security, gave away secret details of her movements.

He is also said to have boasted on the Internet: "I'm an attractive, well built and sexy professional black male, 32 years old and good in bed. I'm open to the idea of playing with couples... if you're lucky I might wear my uniform."

Mundawarara sent photos of himself in Life Guards uniform - including one of him on his horse - to impress one woman before offering her sex in the royal guardroom. Then he asked the girl to bring along another blonde friend for a threesome.

"I have not had two blondes before. I've had a brunette and a blonde," he allegedly bragged to the woman.

He said he had to have his romps where he worked so that he could be on call "in case the queen comes".

He arranged a meeting with undercover reporters from the News of the World, who were posing as swingers. The paper said the polo-playing Zimbabwean mouthed off about his royal duties with the Household Cavalry.

"We are the queen's bodyguards. We're going to Windsor next week because the president of India is coming," he told the reporters. "We'll pick up the queen and whoever it is and take them to Buckingham Palace."

"She's in the palace today and she's going to Windsor on Friday," he added, leaking her itinerary.

And then he allegedly told the paper: "She's definitely doddery, definitely not totally with it."

Mundawarara led the reporters through the famous Horse Guards arch towards his flat in an imposing building. "You see the top floor, that's my bedroom," he boasted.

Yesterday the British ministry of defence said it was aware of the incident and was currently investigating.
