London - An entrancing squid has been spotted off the coast of California by researchers using a remotely operated submarine to explore the ocean floor.
A video (watch it below) of the researchers watching the squid on monitors has been posted on the internet. One says: ‘It looks so fake! It’s like some little kid dropped their toy.’
Others say the eyes look as if they are painted on and one admits ‘it’s freaking me out!’.
It was later identified as a stubby squid – rossia pacifica – which grows to four inches (about 10cm) long.
