Jakarta - Motorists in the Indonesian capital were taken by surprise on Friday when a giant electronic billboard on a busy road displayed a Japanese adult film.
Photos and video clips circulating on the internet showed the LED screen in front of South Jakarta's mayoralty displaying scenes in which two people were having sex.
"We received information about the video after Friday prayers," Bowo Sukindro, a spokesman for the South Jakarta police, told Detik.com news portal.
"Our officers immediately unplugged [the billboard]," he said.
Police said they are investigating the incident to find out who was behind the prank.
