Two men received 15-year sentences in the Addo Regional Court on Friday for robbing two British tourists at a bed and breakfast in Addo, Eastern Cape police said.

Xolani Vlakbok, 26, and Thembani Bauti, 23, were arrested in April at a house in Nomathamsanqa after a tip-off, said Warrant Officer Gerda Swart.

Two British men were woken early in the morning by the two men who threatened them with a crowbar and a rock.

They ransacked the tourists' chalet at the Elephant House bed and breakfast and fled with cellphones, money, clothing, music players and other items.

The rest of the property was recovered in the bush not far from the house.

The tourists left South Africa in April after the incident. - Sapa
