Modiselle has confidence in her new team

North West Premier Maureen Modiselle announced the members of the province's executive council on Friday.

The MECs, selected in consultation with the African National Congress are:

- Education - Reverend OJ Tselapedi

- Health and social development - Rebecca Kasienyane

- Agriculture, conservation, environment and rural development - Boitumelo Tshwene

- Local government and traditional affairs - Gordon Kegakilwe

- Finance - Louisa Mabe

- Economic development and tourism - Wendy Matsemela

- Public safety - Howard Yawa

- Sport, arts and culture - Grace Pampiri

- Public works, roads and transport - Mohlakeng Mahlakeng

- Housing - Desbo Sefanyetso

"I am confident that this team of competent men and women is equal to the task of discharging our mandate to the people of our province in line with the priorities of the next five years," Modiselle said.

These were education, health, rural development, the fight against crime and corruption, and creating decent work and sustainable livelihoods.

She said the leadership would be transparent and accountable and called on people in the province to support the council. - Sapa
