Johannesburg - The African National Congress Women's League in Gauteng elected new leadership at its conference on Sunday, national spokesperson Troy Martens said.

She said 580 voting delegates were present at the conference.

“We wish the new leadership well in their roles and believe they are ready for the immense task ahead of them. This includes providing leadership and taking up the cause of women in Gauteng.”

The new elected leaders were chairperson Patricia Chueu and deputy chairperson Nhlanhla Ncube-Ndabe.

Mavis Mdlalose was elected as secretary and Faith Mazibuko as deputy secretary.

Thembi Mokgeti was elected as treasurer. - Sapa
