– The North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo is embarking on an overseas visit to China and Dubai, his office said on Thursday.

“North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo will for the next three days be in China’s Henan Province before attending the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress which starts on Monday 11th April in Dubai,” the Office of the Premier said in a statement.

“The Premier’s visit to China is at the invitation of Vice-Governor Li Ya of Henan Province, who during his visit to the North West Province in October last year, expressed his intention to host Premier Mahumapelo as part of forging strong ties and implementing the working relations between the two Provinces.”

Premier Mahumapelo is accompanied by the Agriculture, Culture and Tourism (ACT) MECs, Manketsi Tlhape and Desbo Mohono, and MEC for Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development Wendy Nelson.

He will take advantage of this official trip to promote the Provincial Strategy on ACT, and invite potential investors to explore trade and investment opportunities in the North West Province.

While in Dubai, the Premier and his delegation which include the North West Development Corporation (NWDC), will meet with companies in the sectors of Agribusiness, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, as well as Leisure and Tourism.

MEC for Social Development, Fenny Gaolaolwe has been appointed as Acting Premier of the North West Province from the 6th until 14th of April 2016.
