Minority Front councillor Visvin Reddy has dismissed rumours that he is quitting politics and the MF to take up a full-time employment with the eThekwini Municipality.

He was apparently offered a position as head of sports and recreation for the municipality.

Said Reddy: "Some months ago I did apply for certain vacancies within the municipality but owing to the delay in finalising the appointments, I am unable to take on any positions at this stage."

He said he was responsible for co-ordinating next year's elections for the Minority Front.

"I still want to experience the party's steady growth and phenomenal support it enjoys and am far from ready to quit politics."

He said with the 2004 general elections just around the corner, he could not abandon the party at this crucial time.

"I value my friendhip with party leader Amichand Rajbansi as he has guided me closely over the years. I will continue to support him and will be focusing all my energies on ensuring a MF victory."
