Johannesburg - The girl who survived an apparent satanic ritual in which she and her friend were set alight was expected to testify in the High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The girl, who was 14-years-old when she and Kirsty Theologo were doused with petrol and set alight in 2011, would testify in the trial against four young men implicated in the attack.

Lindon Wagner, Robin Harwood, Harvey Isha, and Courtney Daniels have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, and assault to cause grievous bodily harm.

In October 2011, Theologo was doused with petrol and set alight on a hill behind the Linmeyer swimming pool south of Johannesburg.

She died a week later in Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital while her friend who was also burnt survived.

On Wednesday, the court heard how the girl was irrational after they were attacked.

Theologo's 17-year-old brother said the girl was carried by Theologo into the house shortly after midnight when they returned from the koppie.

She hid under a bed, mumbled inaudibly, and would scream when she was touched.

Also on Thursday the court expected to hear statements from two of the accused - Wagner and Harwood. - Sapa
