Cape Town - British businessman Shrien Dewani's formal admissions show his computer was logged onto a male gay website hours after his wife's body was found.
The formal admissions document was handed up by his lawyer Francois van Zyl on Monday and was not read out in court.
In the document obtained on Wednesday, Dewani confirmed he registered for the 'Gaydar' website and 'Recon', a website for men into fetish gear, in 2004.
His username for both sites was 'ASIANSUBGUY'.
He admitted his computer was logged onto Gaydar in the early hours of the morning on November 15, 2010.
Anni Dewani's body was found in their hijacked shuttle taxi early on November 14, 2010.
Records show his online identity was logged onto the same website again on the evening of November 15 and November 16.
There were also log-ins on the Recon website late on November 15 and November 16.
Dewani also admitted that his computer was logged onto Gaydar while waiting with Anni for their flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town on November 12, 2010.
He deactivated both accounts on November 21, 2010.
At the start of the formal admission document, Dewani states he does not have personal knowledge of all the facts referred to but has satisfied himself “of the existence of the facts”.
Dewani pleaded not guilty on Monday to killing his wife Anni in Cape Town in 2010, and other related charges.
He is charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and conspiracy to commit these crimes. He is also charged with defeating the ends of justice.
On the first day of his trial, Dewani said in his plea explanation that he was bisexual and had had sexual interactions with both men and women.
“My sexual interactions with males were mostly physical experiences or e-mail chats with people I met online or in clubs,; including prostitutes such as Leipold Leisser,” Van Zyl said, reading Dewani's plea explanation to the court.
“My sexual interactions with females were usually during the course of a relationship which consisted of other activities and emotional attachment.”
He met Anni on May 30, 2009 after a mutual friend gave him her contact details.
In his plea explanation, he said he was instantly physically attracted to her on their first date, loved her bubbly personality and sensed there was mutual chemistry.
