Port Elizabeth - Four school children died on Monday morning when a bus carrying 46 learners overturned at Mdumbi Village near Ngeleni in the Eastern Cape.

Provincial Health Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, said one learner was killed instantly while three other boys died shortly after being admitted to Canzibe Hospital.

Kupelo said other critically injured learners were rushed to Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha. He said that the learners were on their way to school when the accident occurred.

Meanwhile, on Sunday night an overloaded Toyota Conquest collided head on with a truck on the R63, just before Adelaide.

Kupelo said all nine occupants on board, five women and four men, were killed. The accident occurred just after 8 pm along the R63, five kilometers from Adelaide.
