Port Elizabeth - Four more suspects, including a Knsyna ward councillor, have been arrested for the murder of ANC councillor Victor Molosi.

Molosi, 50, was shot in the head just a few metres from his home in Concordia in July.

He was the councillor for ward 8 which comprises of Concordia and Joodse Kamp in Knysna.

Molosi was on his way home from a School Governing Body meeting at Concordia High School at about 10pm when a gunman approached him, police said at the time.

Mandla Tyololo, 39, who was the first to be arrested shortly after the murder, is expected to appear in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for a bail application.

Police spokesperson, Captain Malcom Pojie said the other four suspects were arrested on Tuesday.

Pojie said two of the men, aged 37, were arrested in Cape Town.

He said a 37-year-old and a 58-year-old Knysna ward councillor were both arrested in the town on Tuesday.

The suspects are facing a charge of murder and conspiracy to commit murder and are expected to make a first appearance in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
