Man's body found bound, beaten, head wrapped in clingwrap

Port Elizabeth - The body of a man whose head was wrapped in clingwrap, and whose feet and hands were bound with nylon, was discovered in Fairview in Port Elizabeth on Thursday, Eastern Cape police said. 

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said a passerby discovered the body of a man lying in the bushes alongside the road. 

Police suspect the man is aged between 55-60 years old. 

“He was brutally murdered. Both his hands and feet were bound with a nylon cord and his head covered and severely beaten,” Labans said. 

Police believe that the body was dumped during the course of Wednesday last night and Thursday morning. 

The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder is unknown at this stage.

His name is being withheld until family members are informed.
