Durban - Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for a suspect following a stabbing incident in the Bedfordview area on Tuesday. 

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele said it was alleged that two school boys had an argument after school when the fatal stabbing incident took place. 

"The suspect took out a knife and stabbed the 17-year-old boy several times and he later died in hospital. 

"Police are investigating a case of murder," said Makhubele. 

The provincial management of police in Gauteng has condemned the violent incidents by pupils in schools and has urged investigators of the incident to trace and ensure that the suspect is found and brought to book. 

Anyone who may have information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect, is urged to report to the police by calling the crime stop number which is 08600 10111 or call the nearest police station.
