Johannesburg - An 18-year-old man arrested for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday, Gauteng police said.
He would remain in custody until his next appearance on January 5, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
“He was arrested on Sunday after the toddler's mother walked in on the man allegedly raping the child in Mofolo North on Saturday night. The girl was taken for medical observation.”
“The attending doctor found that it was not the first time the child had been raped. The girl is now in counselling and is being treated for injuries,” Makhubela said. - Sapa
