The drama continues. Wealthy businessman Theunis Crous and his socialite ex-girlfriend Khanyisile Mbau may not have appeared in court on Wednesday, but they were due in the Randburg Family Court on Thursday.

Mbau’s 51-year-old former lover was to approach the court today to set aside a protection order that the woman who was once his mistress issued against him.

Mbau had applied for the protection order three weeks ago, claiming Crous had been following her and threatening her. But Crous claims Mbau falsely obtained the protection order against him.

Both had been summonsed to the Randburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of contempt of court, but the case was not placed on the roll.

The drama is believed to have started on Friday, when Crous apparently arrived at the Rosebank nightclub The Bank, where Mbau was partying.

According to newspaper reports, he tried to talk to her, she got angry and attacked him. She then called the police.

On Monday morning, Crous went to the Randburg Magistrate’s Court to seek an order against Mbau.

On Monday night, Mbau went to the Sandton police station to obtain a protection order against Crous.

Crous was reportedly the first to be arrested on Tuesday afternoon.

He had allegedly violated Mbau’s protection order by sending her an SMS.

But late on Tuesday, Mbau was arrested for violating a counter-order that Crous had obtained against her. It is alleged that Mbau had threatened him on Twitter.

But Mbau has claimed that Crous hacked her into her account.

On Twitter earlier this week, she told her followers she was closing her account because someone had hacked into it.

Yesterday, Crous did not wish to discuss his case to set aside her order.

Earlier in the day, he told The Star at the court: “This is wasting my time. Do you know how much money I am losing by being here? I stopped the money flow, that is why this is happening. I want nothing to do with her. She is running a reality TV series. Every week on Vuzu.tv (DStv channel) there is something new. This is all soon going to come to an end,” he said.

Mbau was less willing to speak. Her confidant Jeff said they did not wish to have anything to do with the media.

Mbau and Crous have had a very public on-again-off-again romance.

Last year, when she split from first husband, Mandla Mthembu, she hooked up with the 51-year-old Crous, an ANC-aligned businessman and Mthembu’s former friend.

Crous, who is married to Primrose Crous, gave Mbau a black Lamborghini, which he later replaced with a BMW Z4 after his wife found out about it. He is also reported to have sponsored the R10 000-a-month rent for her posh Hyde Park flat.

The pair were seen at the J&B Met in Cape Town earlier this year, but split up when Crous declared his undying love for his wife.
