PICS: 64 injured after bus, taxi and bakkie collide in Bronkhorstspruit

Johannesburg - As many as 64 people were injured when a bus, bakkie and taxi collided at the intersection of R25 and M6 in the Bronkhorstspruit area.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring on Wednesday said when paramedics and other emergency services, arrived the minibus taxi was on its side and the bus was on the side of the road. A bakkie and trailer were in the emergency lane. All the vehicles had damages synonymous with a crash.

Paramedics found that 64 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Meiring said the injured were treated on the scene before they were taken to hospitals.

The cause collision, which happened on Tuesday afternoon, is being probed by local authorities.
