Johannesburg - Three people have been killed and a man is in critical condition after what is believed to have been “a street race gone wrong” in Gezina, Pretoria paramedics said on Sunday.
“Two people have been burnt beyond recognition and the other dead person is a man,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks.
“We think these cars were street racing,” he added.
A collision between two cars occurred at the intersection of Ben Swart Road and Voortrekker Road at about 6:30pm, Wicks said.
“We still don't know if the dead people were bystanders or if they were passengers... Bits of the cars are strewn across a 50m radius.” - Sapa
