UPDATE: One dead, 19 injured in Wonderboom plane crash

Pretoria - One person has died following a plane crash at the Wonderboom airport, paramedics confirmed on Tuesday.

Earlier, reports emerged that 20 people had been injured after a plane, marked Martin's Air Charter, crashed at the airport. 

Images of the deadly crash soon emerged on social media, with users posting pictures of the wreckage at the scene.

Spokesperson Ernie McCarthy confirmed the incident and that Emer-G-Med paramedics were attending to the scene.

"At this stage, we can confirm that crew members are attending to the scene of a crash," he said. 

ER24 in a tweet confirmed the fatality following the crash.

The emergency service's spokesperson Russel Meiring also confirmed this to Independent Online (IOL).
